Dear Ms. Karen Reside, 

Hello Mrs. Reside, I hope this email finds you well. My name is Emily Abitz and I am currently a fourth year at California State University, Long Beach. I am projected to graduate in Spring 2022 with a bachelor's degree in Health Science, community health. With that being said, I am extremely interested in working with your organization as an intern to help combat the social/ economic injustices and health disparities surrounding our communities.

The Long Beach Gray Panthers are most reputable for their involvement in aiding underserved communities (particularly older adults) and providing populations with the most accurate and current data. As someone who plans to achieve a career in speech therapy, it is very important to me that I gain experience talking, learning, and interacting with older adults. Any involvement with this organization could potentially boost my understanding of the needs of older adults and give me the competitive advantage I need over peers to be successful in my career path.

If given the opportunity to demonstrate the skills I have learned throughout my educational journey thus far, as an asset, I could plan programs, assess needs, implement educational programs, analyze whether or not a program is successful, write grants and so forth. The goals and values of the Long Beach Gray Panthers are exactly in line with the kind of organization I would like to represent.
